Online pokies in PNG: what you need to know

Pokies, also called slots, are the most played online casino games in Papua New Guinea by a long way. On both sites in this guide, pokies make up most of the games and most of what players bet on. They are simple to start, they run well on a phone, and you can play them for a few toea per spin or for much more.

Ten years ago most PNG players knew pokies from the game apps passed around between friends: 918Kaya, Mega888 and 918Kiss. Those are still favourites, but today you can also play games from the world's biggest studios, like JILI, PG Soft and Pragmatic Play, all from one Kina balance.

The hard part is not finding pokies. It is finding a site that takes your money in Kina, pays you back in Kina, and does both without fuss. That is what this guide is about.

How we pick a PNG pokies site

Plenty of sites say they are for Papua New Guinea. A good one passes every point below, and you can check each one yourself before you deposit.

1. Kina all the way. Deposits, bets, wins and withdrawals in PGK. If a site only shows US dollars, you lose money on every exchange.
2. Local ways to pay. BSP, Kina Bank and CellMoni at least. Crypto-only sites can make getting your money out hard. See paying with Kina.
3. A low minimum deposit. You should be able to start with K10, not K100.
4. Withdrawal rules written down before you sign up: the minimum, the limits and how long it takes. Both of our picks list theirs on their FAQ pages: Winim777 FAQ, WinKina FAQ.
5. Payouts only to your own account. It protects you if someone gets into your login.
6. Bonus rules you can read. Every bonus should say how much you must play (turnover) before you can cash out.
7. Real games from real studios, like JILI, PG Soft, Pragmatic Play, Evolution, 918Kaya and Mega888.
8. Fast on mobile data. Most PNG players are on their phone. Pages and games should load without a big download. See mobile pokies.
9. Support that answers. Try live chat with a simple question before you deposit.
10. Help to play safely. A good site talks about budgets and limits, not only wins. Read play responsibly.

More than pokies

Both sites also have live casino tables with real dealers, fishing and crash games like Aviator, sports betting with NRL, horse racing and table games. Everything uses the same Kina balance on each site.

Start playing in 3 steps

1. Sign up in a minute. Use your real name, the same as on your bank account, so your first withdrawal is not held up. Step-by-step: Winim777 sign-up guide or create a WinKina account.
2. Deposit from K10 with BSP, Kina Bank, CellMoni or MoniPay. See how to pay with Kina.
3. Pick a pokie and set a budget. Start at a low bet until you know how the game pays.

Getting paid

Both sites pay out in Kina to an account in your own name, from K50. Before your first withdrawal you set a separate withdrawal password, so even someone with your login cannot take your money. If you took a bonus, finish its turnover first. Full steps: withdraw at Winim777, withdraw at WinKina, and tips for faster withdrawals in PNG.

Scam warning: no real casino will ask you to send money to a personal account on Facebook or WhatsApp, or to pay a "release fee" before a withdrawal. Only pay through the deposit page on the site itself.
